Did a little Googling and read that PRR and NH handled mail via Flexi-van containers DC-Springfield via Penn Station (http://www.railroad.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=95&t=47373). Also Walthers used to sell a MDT Flexi-van flat with two PRR containers (https://www.walthers.com/gold-line-tm-mark-iv-flexi-van-flatcar-w-two-trailers-pennsylvania-merchants-despatch-9681).

One more PRR Flex-van tidbit found on the internet indicating PRR's Flexi-van containers were purchased from NYC in the early '60s for US Postal contract service: http://www.angelfire.com/film/prrpics/garys_railroad_stuff/index.album/prr-truc-train-sign?i=21
