old Back Bay Station

From 1929 to 1979 this simple but functional station built by the New Haven RR on Dartmouth Street served Back Bay passengers. It was at least the second station on this site, and it met its end during the Southwest Corridor construction project when it was replaced by the current rather abstract structure.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August 11, 1978.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, March 6, 2017.
