The head lineup of Track 8 at Essex yard consists of 0-6-0 #2 and open gondola car #728. From 1971 until the mid 1990s, this car was the last car on the steam train excursions, until it was retired and placed on permanent display. It was popular with some guests, but not so much with the ones who wore white.
