A pair of the short-lived Budd SPV-2000 railcars purchased by Connecticut DOT for Amtrak's Springfield-New Haven service approaches New Haven station from the north, passing under the unused catenary bridges that once powered electric freight to Cedar Hill Yard. The SPVs proved to be mechanically unreliable and were soon converted to unpowered coaches for Shore Line East service.
