inbound at Newtonville

The November sun has just risen as MBTA GP9 7538 accelerates away from the Newtonville stop with three ex-NH coaches on a Framingham-Boston run. The 7538 briefly wore a unique gray/purple/yellow paint scheme that never made it onto any of the other MBTA GP9s, which remained in Penn Central black to the end.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, November, 1978.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, April 7, 2017.
Railroad: MBTA.
