New Sunday Train 2261 at West Kingston, RI

Amtrak Acela 2034, operating as new Sunday-only train 2261, heads west on track 2 after passing Kingston station in RI. The station footbridge, not needed with track 1 out of service, is in the background. Three new or changed trains with new numbers passed thru Kingston in a relatively short time Sunday afternoon, the 1st Sunday this new schudule was in effect. Train 2261 provides an additional Acela trip Sunday afternoons; it does not replace any train on the old schedule. These new trains tend to look very much like all the other trains on this line.
Notice the stack of protoype sectional track with concrete ties stacked on the far side of track 1.
