not the New England States LimitedAnother casualty on Amtrak Day was this sad remnant of the NYC's once prestigious New England States, PC train 427 between Boston and Albany, which was down to a single snack bar coach. A few days before the end, train 427's ex-NYC E8 cleared its throat upon exiting the Prudential tunnel. Boston-Albany service wouldn't resume until Amtrak inaugurated the Lake Shore in 1975.
