NEW HAVEN in NC (ex "Senator" car)

You might think this shot I took at the North Carolina Transportation Museum in April 2017 was of a New Haven sleeper. Actually it ran on the New Haven but was a Pennsylvania car built in 1952 by Budd for the Boston-Washington "Senator". It was sold by Amtrak in 2003 to the Friends of 261 (MILW 4-8-4) and renamed "Lake Pipen" for a Wisconsin lake. The car was built as a 60 seat coach with a 14 seat smoking lounge. I also added a 3 shot sequence I took of the "Senator" in 1955.
