E-40 with commutersThe former New Haven EP-5 class GE electrics did not fare well under Penn Central, but for a year or two they were favored for long Grand Central-New Haven commuter trains because of their quick acceleration. PC 4973 headed up one such rush hour train at Milford, CT. The third car is a heavyweight commuter club.
