One of the first changes that Penn Central made on taking over the New Haven was to assign ex-PRR E8's to the Shore Line, replacing FL9s that were shifted to the ex-NYC Harlem and Hudson Divisions. A newcomer posed with a longtime resident at New Haven in the fall of 1969.
