Ipswich Budd

A solo Boston & Maine RDC has arrived from North Station and lays over at Ipswich before the return trip. At the time this was the end point for midday service on the Eastern Route, with just one rush hour train continuing beyond to Newburyport. The tower in the background controlled the grade crossing gates at the station.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August, 1967.
