pool power in SpringfieldIn the late 1970s both through freights on the Boston & Maine's Connecticut River line used pooled locomotives from the B&M's northern connections. This led to quite a mix. Train CVSP from St. Albans, VT, has arrived at the Springfield yard behind Grand Trunk and Central Vermont GP9s plus a B&M GP7, while the Canadian Pacific RS-18s off train CPSP from Newport, VT, have tied up in the engine storage pen.
