On the north end of Trk 24 was this B&O wagon top XM 40' box car that was stenciled for "hide service loading" and was an empty out of Brezner Tannery in Boscowin. Cars in this service were near the end of their service life. Too contaminated for any other lading and salt from the hides would soon rust out the lower sidewalls. Oh yah, they smelled terrible. Not a favorite car for yard clerks to check!

Looks like there's some "gunk" dripping out the right side of that open door. I recall loads of barrelled and tank cars of whatever heading to the rendering plant in Frewsburg on the PC Valley Branch. Then there were loads of aged cow manure on the house track in N. Warren. Railroading used to be a lot stinkier back in the day!
