HN-2 at StratfordWhile most New Haven freights in and out of New York had electric power in 1968, trains NH-1 and HN-2 between Cedar Hill and Harlem River were an exception. Known as "The Drop", this job ran with diesels because it swapped out cars on some non-electrified yard tracks along the way. On a winter afternoon, eastbound HN-2 rumbled through Stratford, CT, with a long train behind an FM H16-44 and a pair of the NH's last surviving Alco cabs, an FB-2 and an FA-1.
