For 1 Day, The Winnipesaukee Scenic Becomes the "Winnisquam Scenic"!

To celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the former B&M Train Station in Laconia, the Winnipesaukee Scenic ran three fifty minute passenger extras that departed from Laconia station to this point in Belmont not far from Dutile Shore Road along the shores of Lake Winnisquam. Trains did not cross Route 3. There are no more special excursions planned for this year, along this well maintained but very unused portion of this historic former Boston and Maine line. While the Winnipesaukee Scenic runs trains as far south as Lakeport, and New England Southern runs occasional freights as far north as Silver Lake Road in Tilton (Lochmere), the rails in between these two points see the least amount of use from Concord to Lincoln. The rails are owned by the State of NH.
