Becket was the last stop of the chase from Westfield to catch an EMD SD70AC leading the West Springfield to Selkirk freight. The sound of the EMD 710 prime mover thundering upgrade at full throttle as it struggled to pull the monster 143 car train was music to my ears. The howling EMD could be heard from miles away.
