Jet in transition

A former New Haven EP-5 electric that has received its Penn Central number but not yet exchanged its colorful paint for basic black rolls west through Milford, CT, with what is probably a Springfield train. These motors were known as "Jets" because of their screaming air blowers.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, November, 1969.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, September 30, 2017.
Railroad: Penn Central.
