Pilot Train On The Adams Extension

Volunteers of the Hoosac Valley Service pose in front of their Budd rail diesel car following their very first test trip down the newly completed extension of the Adams Branch at Adams, MA. The branch was extended roughly a mile in length to allow the HVS to reach their new station terminal in the center of Adams. Regular train rides will commence this weekend. This is actually the second train to traverse the new track. The very first one was a Pan Am work train which dumped ballast along the track last Tuesday, Oct. 3rd. The original track through here was removed in the mid-1990s.
