East Northfield, MA

Shot of the day! No trains in photo, but memories of historical significance for me. Looking north at remaining abutments of the B&M's Conn River Main deck girder bridge that crossed the Connecticut River between East Northfield and Hinsdale, NH. Bridge failed in 1970 when pier on left leaned southward taking bridge spans out of alignment. Never repaired, all trains ran on the CV Main on the west side of the river. Missing center span disappeared sometime after spans removed. (Info provided by Scott Whitney).
