Lake Shore at Worcester

A pair of Amtrak E-units, the first one in need of some fresh paint, pause at Worcester with the Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited. The Osgood-Bradley building is in the background. Worcester Union Station was a decaying shell at this point, and passengers used the new Amshack a block east.

Today's refurbished WUS has only the one train platform adjacent to the station. But MBTA has budgeted $3M for a design study to add a 2nd platform likely near the location of the platform shown above.
