In Honor of Ben PerryOn the left is Bob Henderson of the White Mtn Central RR, then George Kenson engineer from the Hobo Railroad and then Ben Perry on the right.
Ben, a retired Boston Amtrak Dispatcher passed away on November 16th. Born in 1934 he spent most of his love of trains by acting with the Clarks at the infamous Trading Post in Lincoln, NH.
I spent many a day in past years in having him as my conductor when the former Newport Dinner Train locomotive #1943 would ascend with a wooden boxcar and a pre1900 caboose, then descend the steep grade out of the White Mtn Central Central RR.
Bob Henderson of the White Mountain Central informed me that 2018 they will reinstate the very popular steam excursion
