As the December sun sinks low, the unmistakable silhouette of a GG1 marks the arrival of Penn Central train 170, the Washington-Boston Colonial, at New Haven station, where the G will give way to a pair of E8s. GG1s had been running to New Haven for a few days short of a year at this point.
