Lounging Around For the Holiday...

Mount Hood Railroad #904, named "Hood River", is the buffet-bar-lounge for the railroad's dinner train. It was originally built as a U.S. Army hospital car in the 1940s, and was converted to a diner lounge for the Alaska Railroad's "Aurora" train.

The car is shown resting with the rest of the railroad's dinner train and excursion stock in the Hood River, Ore. yard on Independence Day 2017.

Photographed by Thomas McCann, July 4, 2017.
