This was probably enough power to get this Penn Central train over the Berkshire summit! An eight-unit mix of EMD and GE diesels drops down into Pittsfield, MA, at North Adams Junction with a Selkirk-bound freight. An RS3 assigned to local duty stands by. This sort of lashup normally represented a power balancing move, common on weekends on the B&A.
