For a time in the 1970s Amtrak ran a New Haven-Providence semi-local train called the Clamdigger, and at one point the unique Roger Williams RDC cab units were regularly assigned. Eastbound #152 has just come off the Connecticut River bridge at Old Lyme, CT, late on a May 1977 afternoon.

Back in the 1940's I remember a similar "demotion" when the Graf Zepplin trainset ran between Boston and Providence.

The Roger Williams trainset was last seen at Hobo RR in Lincoln, NH
