first Turbo runAt dusk, United Aircraft TurboTrain set 52-53 running as Penn Central train 3002 departs from New Haven on its first revenue run between New York and Boston, as an FL9-powered conventional train occupies the adjoining track. On this day the Turbo represented the future of high speed passenger service on the Shore Line, but things would turn out differently.
