EMD pinch hitterDuring Amtrak's year-long lease of a Bombardier LRC trainset, there were occasions when neither LRC locomotive was available for service and an F40 substituted. Boston-New Haven train 153, the Beacon Hill, sped through Stonington, CT, with an F40 213 (missing a numberboard) looming over the low-profile LRC cars that were regularly assigned to this run.
