Lake Shore at Worcester

In 1981, Worcester Union Station was a boarded-up, derelict shell with a leaking roof and little hope for a revival as Amtrak's eastbound Lake Shore Limited rolled by on a November afternoon, about to stop at the modest Amtrak station a few hundred feet east. Heritage equipment was still the rule on trains 448 and 449.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, November, 1981.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, April 27, 2018.
Railroad: Amtrak.
