BM 1563 GP-7 at west end of the diesel shop. By this time most of the GP-7's had gone through Billerica Shop and came out with blue dip paint, steam generator removed, water tanks removed and in the case of the 1563 and a few other GP-7's had snow plow pilots applied to the front ends. This is before FRA mandated removal of foot boards. These snow plow equipped GP-7's often were leaders on Boston to WRJct jobs where snow was often an issue on the Northern Main Line.

Unique looking horn on the long hood (where is the real horn?)! Q: what is the bump-out that many B&M geeps feature on their long hood noses? Something to do with connecting to commuter trains comprised of RDCs? Thanks.
