rush hour at Forest HillsThe spring of 1979 was a transition time for MBTA motive power as new F40s and FP10s were taking over from secondhand E8s, GP9s, and leased B&M GP7s. At Forest Hills station, new F40 1002 from the T's first batch of five was in charge of a Providence-bound train of ex-NH coaches with an ex-PRR P70 spliced in.
