Reading 4-8-4 2101 has, temporarily set aside its celebrity role for the work at hand. With a long train spread out on a tight wye track at Walpole Junction, what is critical is not sheer tractive effort, (or smoke), so much as a strong, steady pull with zero wheel slip. Once everything is safely "around the horn", there will be plenty of opportunity to give Freedom Train chasers a look at Big Steam in action on the climb to Medfield."
