steam fantrip on the New Haven

Connecticut Valley 2-8-0 97 rolls through Falls Village, CT, with a Danbury-Canaan excursion on the New Haven's Berkshire line. On this day 50 years ago, steam had been gone from the NH for only 16 years, so many on board remembered the real thing.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, August 11, 1968.
Added to the photo archive by Tom Nelligan, May 29, 2018.
