New Haven, now

The beautifully restored waiting room of New Haven Union Station is both brighter and busier than it was when I hung out there as a high school kid in the 1960s. Built in 1920 and reopened in 1985 after more than a decade of disuse, it remains a landmark along the Northeast Corridor.
