Maybrook Line remnant

On a late winter afternoon, Conrail's Cedar Hill-Danbury turn rolls up the Housatonic Valley at Shelton, CT, behind a GP9/GP38 lashup. The big road freights that carried interchange traffic to and from the Erie Lackawanna and Lehigh & Hudson River at Maybrook, NY, have been gone for four years.

Photographed by Tom Nelligan, March, 1978.
