Previous Photo Photo of Springfield engine terminal
Springfield engine terminal

The New Haven and Boston & Maine maintained a joint engine terminal at Springfield, MA, along the NH line just south of the B&A diamond. Here a pair of renumbered FL9s and a U25B pose with B&M power in the background. Within a year or two of this photo PC moved its servicing to the West Springfield, the B&M set up a layover facility at its yard north of downtown, and the old NH/B&M engine terminal closed.
