The West Barnstable Railroad Station

First opened in 1911, the West Barnstable Railroad Station sits in the historic district of West Barnstable, Massachusetts just off of Route 149/Meetinghouse Way. The original railroad station was constructed in 1854. Since then, it has also undergone a number of renovations, along with being a station stop for numerous railroads throughout the last few decades or so. On Saturdays, during the summer months (namely, May through October), it is opened to the public where it operates as a passenger stop for the Cape Cod Central Railroad’s Shoreline/Scenic Excursion Train. It has served as a meeting place for the Cape Cod Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society (or, NRHS for short) since at least 2001 as well.
