Before FedEx there was a Federal Express

Being the last train of the night that went beyond Providence, I took this train many times for the short hop to New London while I was stationed there on active duty. The agent at Back Bay station had just rolled up the departure information. There were three Pullmans from Boston that night.

Looks like the New London stop was an after-thought. Guess there was no middle of the night passenger or mail traffic at Birdgeport or Stamford?
