Equipment for MBTA train 424 Returning to Wachusett Station

MBTA control coach 1642 leads the equipment for train 424 back toward Wachusett thru CPF-334, with MBTA 1129 (GP40MC) pusning. I was here hoping to get a properly lit photo of NS 1800 on 23K rounding the curve here. The approach signal on the track 1 mast here did not make feel good about my chances. When MBTA 424 departed and these signal went dark, I (wisely) gave up the wait. According to the post on heritageunits.com 23K passed here after 6:30 p.m., more than an hour after sunset.

Good effort, Warren, re: the reclusive NS1800! Apparently either at or by the time 23K got to Mechanicville in the wee hours, it picked up 2 more NS locomotives and consist grew to 10,600 ft. It then dropped a locomotive at Mohawk yard and continued south arriving Binghamton in the dark, disappointing fans on the Southern Tier! Train grew to 12,000 feet at Binghamton...
