Meet At Ayer

Fitchburg bound MBTA Commuter Rail train is running "wrong iron"overtaking the freight stopped at the Ayer interlocking home signal in this snow scene at Groton Harvard Road in Ayer. The freight will either cross over to the Hill Yard or is waiting for this passenger job to clear Ayer station. A roadside snow pile provides the opportunity for the extra elevation in this shot.

Photographed by Ron DeFilippo, January, 1987.
Added to the photo archive by Ron DeFilippo, March 2, 2019.
Railroad: Guilford (B&M).
