FAs Through Fanueil

Alco FAs rule as a west bound freight train, just out of Beacon Park Yard comes through Faneuil just across the Charles from Watertown. The lighting stripes on the nose lend a fierce look to these units. The once mighty 4-track B&A mainline here has been reduced to two tracks to make way for the Massachusetts Turnpike extension.

This picture is such a gem!!!! Brings back so many memories!!! My grandparents had a house up on a hill in Newton on belleview street about a mile behind where you are standing. When the four track main still existed, they would bring me down the hill close to Washington street and we would stand on the bridge and watch as the Central would bat eastbound and westbound trains by us every twenty minutes. Most were headed by these FA/B sets or RS units
