Boston Railway Terminal

Boston ByPass Road and West 1st Street in South Boston, MA, lots of activity with a new building under construction with track laid inside and new switches. Track leading to the old Boston Army Base has stacks of new ties along the right of way and it appears the tracks are being rehabilitated and readied for use. Still working on trying to find out exactly what is the purpose of this sudden renewal. Last time this track saw use was bulkhead flats delivering structural steel around 2008.

Is this the section I keep hearing about that they are building up at a red line test track?

I took a quick look at Google Street View. Sign Says Its Red Line/ Orange Line Improvement Program Red Line Test Track.
