New Orange Line 1400 Series Cars at Wellington

I was hoping to ride in one of these, instead of just looking, but here are eight of the brand new Orange Line cars built by China's state owned CRRC, which happens to be the largest rolling stock manufacturer in the world. The trainset on the left is a full six car set, while the set on the right is a pair, probably being used for testing. To the right of the new cars, a pair of 01200's was moving toward the back of the yard at Wellington.

Eventually 152 brand new Chinese built 1400 series cars will replace the entire long lived Canadian built "Orange Blossom" fleet which first appeared on these rails around 1979..
