Ex-Norfolk and Western

The formation of the Norfolk Southern put some surplus Norfolk and Western and Souther Railwaypower on the used market and, naturally, Guilford was there and bought some of the surplus SD-45s from both the N&W and the Southern. Leading in this view is former N&W high-hood SD-45 #1771, now Springfield Terminal #681, rounding the curve west of Sandy Pond Road in Ayer on a bright winter day. I have misplaced the slide so I am guessing this is the late 1980s.
