Here was the immaculate (for now) MEC 512 just south of the Winston Road Crossing in Manchester late yesterday afternoon. At this point, the Crew just removed two empties from Summit Packaging. This GP40-2(w) lives on for another week on these NH rails !

There's lots to look at, with the Manchester Waste Water plant in the background, a few old telegraph poles survive, and the switch that led to the former Georgia Pacific siding has been recently removed, though the tracks remain and are visible to the left of the front of 512.

For a great read on Manchester's Railroads, may I suggest Queen City Rails, by Rick Kfoury, published by the Boston & Maine Railroad Historical Society. That was my source to learn that Georgia-Pacific was once housed there.
