Conrail @ Charlemont, Ma.

After catching the E8 leading its train out of the east portal of the Hoosac in Florida we headed back to Charlemont wondering if we would be able to get ahead of her. At Route 8A we spotted the train waiting for a signal to proceed. Grabbed a couple of shots and headed off to the bridge at Bardwells Ferry, just made it by the "Skin of our teeth". Check out that shot, posted earlier.

Excellent photo, Bruce. I'm curious what the Conrail OCS train was doing on the B&M two months prior to Guilford's June 1983 acquisition of the B&M to add to its Maine Central property that Mello acquired in June 1981.
