Short J B Hunt Pig Train Takes Siding at Clinton, MA

The short J B Hunt Piggyback train headed by MEC 377 (GP40) is just about clear in the siding at Clinton, MA to meet what is presumably a ??SE train lead by CR 6574 (C30-7A) and what appears to be 3 sister units. I have no notes to tell me whether this is a POSE, NASE, LASE, or something else that might have been running during the summer of 1998. I am not sure why the J B Hunt train took the siding, unless it was the only train short enough to fit. Note that the spine cars are carrying a mix of van and containers on chassis. I assumed at the time this was a new service to Portland; now I am thinking it was probably only headed to Ayer. Does anyone have any further information on this train and how long it lasted?

This eastbound pig train would have been TV-96 which was part of Guilford's short-lived DownEast Express intermodal service between Conrail connection at Worcester and Waterville, ME. TV-95 was the westbound counterpart.

The pig train should be the TV96 Eastbound/TV95 Westbound that went all the way to Waterville, ME. Not sure of the exact dates of operation, but roughly mid-90's to late 90's?

While on Guilford rails, the train was known as the "Break Wind". It is difficult to offer effective intermodal service when your maximum mainline speed at the time was 25 mph.
