Crossin' The Road

The loaded grain train is pulling out of Hill Yard, passing under the East Main Street bridge and is crossing over to the No.1 track at CPF-AY on the last leg of its journey to Ardent Mills in Ayer. The power is now approaching the Sandy Pond Road crossing. The train must have been routed via CSX Worcester rather than the usual Hoosac Tunnel route. Time is around 1140.

Visitor Comments about this Photo:

All unit trains to Ardent Mills are routed through Barber’s now. Unbelievably, the consignee got tired of the best damned railroad in America taking over a week to move their grain from Rotterdam to Ayer. Boy, they sure have some nerve
