NA-1 504n at Ferry Road in Bow

Here was the NA-1 crew taking the 504 & freight north to Concord. Mostly empties by this point, except for a tank car, a few Ciment Quebec cars, and a load of telephone poles.

504, along with 505 and 506 are the only blue painted 500 series that wear the Pan Am Meatball on the nose. The Meatball's days could be numbered as CSX was granted approval from the Surface Transportation Board to purchase 100% of Pan Am Railways and 50% of Pan Am Southern. News broke about 4:00 pm yesterday afternoon in about a 75 page release.
