Second Helping M427

After dropping their train off in the Hill Yard, the front half of M427's power headed back to Graniteville to pick up another sizeable cut of cars to bring to Ayer. Now pounding across Town Farm Rd. Westford, MA.

What are the longest trains usually run on the Worcester Main?

Great photo set of an interesting operation which I'm guessing is effectively a combination of M427 and POED with the weekend Poland Springs Eimskips thrown in. The 3 locomotives of the original 6 will go to Selkiirk after going back to Graniteville as is shown here. The "1st section" brought to Ayer would be those cars bound for Ayer. And I'm guessing that when the 1st section of M427 dropped cars at Graniteville, the cars were blocked for Selkirk (ie this 2nd section) and E Deerfield that perhaps the 2nd three units (all MEC) would return to take west as part of an POED (or ED-495)? I guess CSX/PAS need to make Hill Yard bigger and/or more fluid!
