Hobo Railroad 959 brings home some new purchasesThe crew stops just north of the RT 175 crossing in Plymouth, NH enroute to Lincoln with two purchases. First in line is ex CP 9060 in a condition that would make you say what am I doing saving that? Being the Prototype for the "Boise Rebuilds" The former B&M 6148 in contrast came through with everything rebuilt from the 80's not the 50's as the other cars in the RDC fleet were. Clean new FRA glazing windows, new rubber floor, new wheels, new brakes a 24L brake stand but was minus the usual two GM Allison Diesels slung underneath. It was equipped to trainline as a control car with F40's and other MBTA passenger cars. These two cars were the last to leave the former BET intact as J.F.White Construction had the contract to build the new BET as well as dismantle all unsold RDC's that were in yard 14 etc.
Alco S1 #959 was former North Strattford RR #959 and before that MEC #959
